Composting Workshop May 25

Backyard Chooks Workshop

Ever think about keeping chooks in your backyard but not sure how to get started? Do you currently have chooks and are interested in learning more about how to care for them? The Warrnambool Community Garden will be holding a Backyard Chook Workshop facilitated by Kylie Treble from The Place of Wonder.

Members Working Bee

More than 120 Christmas trees were dropped off at the Garden for mulching…thanks to people of Warrnambool and surrounds. So WCG members will be buzzing around at WORKING BEE on February 4 spreading the mulch. See this flier for details.

We have a FANTASTIC event coming up 11am to 4pm on Saturday November 26 that you can’t afford to miss. At the OPEN DAY you’ll be able to learn about bush foods from our local area, see our new bush food garden and pick up a copy of our new bush food booklet.

You’ll also enjoy live music all day, a barbie and great coffee from Rough Diamond and meet our new chooks in their “Chook Hilton”. In the afternoon there’s a public dedication of our indigenous acknowledgement seat and a smoking ceremony.

There’s native, bush food and herb plant sales and an opportunity to learn about plans for the old quarry. Check out the flier for more details- we look forward to seeing you there! Gold coin entry, gates open at 10.30am, (cnr. Grieve St and Grafton Road)
